Victorian Mansion
“Butler House” is a 3500sf Victorian Queen Anne mansion in Historic Glyndon built in 1879. The house was modernized while maintaining and rehabilitating its original features. Historic Preservation Guidelines were followed, working in consultation with Baltimore County Landmarks Preservation Committee and Maryland Historic Trust.
The historic restoration was extensive, encompassing new exterior siding, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, flooring, structural and foundation work. The eight bedroom, one bath house was converted into five bedrooms, four bathrooms. A highlight of the house is the new kitchen and mudroom that make use of the historic brick hearth and floors. The original interior fixtures, lighting, and doors were integrated into the design.
The once abandoned property has regained its glory and is the centerpiece of, and inspiration for, a successful new residential development. It is once again a showpiece for the community and a wonderful family home.
