Project:
Historic Farmhouse
The homeowners of this turn of the century farmhouse needed a large addition to accommodate their blended family. The two-story addition replicated the house’s historic architectural details in proportion and scale; down to the fish scale shingles and arched windows in the eaves. The entrance was re-oriented with a new wrap around porch, allowing for a new foyer, kitchen, and mudroom. The original historic features, such as the fireplace and two stairs, were maintained and incorporated. The addition encompasses a main floor family hearth room and a second floor vaulted primary suite.
